Another Product Launch…

WOO-HOO!

Another big ‘gonna-make you a million dollars’ Product Launch! "These Five Internet Marketing Gazillionaires are gonna show you EXACTLY How They Did IT….."

Okay, okay… it is a good thing to pay attention to what the successful people in your field are doing.
That is exactly what the successful people in your field are doing….

BUT- oh yeah, here comes the BUT-
Okay, actually this is a three part BUT:

1. If you really are told everything that some big guy did, you would need to have:

  • Their business plan
  • Their resources
  • Their skillset
  • Their mindset
  • Their contacts
  • Their list
  • etc., etc….

in order to mirror their success.

2. Do you really think you are going to get everything?
What purpose would it serve for someone who enjoys online success
to give you the complete formula?
They are undoubtedly (in most cases) going to give you
a rundown of the blueprint for their success,
but that will not make it your success!

3. You might get a strategy that has been working for someone, but-
as soon as it is released and gobbled up by the masses,
it is not going to work much longer…

there was a product release not so long ago of strategies for affiliate marketing that sold like crazy-
and shortly afterwards, every ad in google adwords was
proclaiming a product a scam or claiming to have
"the real truth about product x"… making that strategy utterly worthless.

Now, I don’t want to make you a cynical, jaded, ex-internet marketer-
but I do want to make it clear that there is no one product
that will change your life and make this whole internet marketing thing easy.

Ain’t gonna happen.

You will find that you pick up a good idea or three
from some of the better products out there, and-
if you are an absolute beginner-
there are some really good products that lay out the whole ‘getting started’ process.

 But-
(oh my gosh, how many times can I say ‘but’ in one post?)
this whole ‘launch’ thing has gotten so crazy
that the affiliates that sign up for a launch are getting
all the email pre-sells, sales pitches, and follow up written for them
by the product seller- and using them verbatim!

Not changing anything!

This is cookie cutter plundering of every hopeful marketer wanna-be out there….
and being executed by some of the TOP NAMES!!
You just have to wonder what is happening to the integrity
of some of the ‘big guns’…

I got an email from a ‘big gun’ the other day trying to push me
into getting some credit cards so I could
"leverage other people’s money" to start a business…

of course, he was in an affiliate program for the credit card companies
and would be paid by them if I signed into that trap….

That guy lost my respect and my business.
I unsubscribed as fast as I could from that dream stealer.

There is a running strategy about making a killing
with a new product by ‘working’ a product launch.

It goes something like this:

Make the product out to be the end all/ be all to solve some problem.
Create a buzz by starting to work the hype several weeks before launch.
Feed the buzz repeatedly, and work the desire into a frenzy by adding mystery.
Get lots of JV partners onboard and write the presell emails for them to make it easy.
Give them peeks at what your new product will do, but leave them thirsting for more.
Make sure to add some urgency with a limited number,
or a price increase after the first 50, or a "prelaunch early notification list"….

I don’t know about you, but after I get the fifth email about the wonders of product x,
and how I need to be on the early notification signup so I can "beat my competitors",
I begin to doubt the validity of product x altogether

If it takes that much hype to sell it, how much is it worth?
AND, if they are working the hype so hard, who’s interests have they got in mind?
Helping me to improve my business, or making as much as they can
in the first few days before everyone has a chance to see that it just ain’t worth it….

Please, please, please, use your x-ray pitch specs
when bombarded by the ‘product launch’ hysteria.
Just because 11 fairly successful marketers are telling you
their ‘friend’ is coming out with something that is gonna "rock the industry",
that doesn’t necessarily make it so.

Check out how much they stand to make if you actually
click through and buy the thing.
Remember, affiliate programs usually pay out 50-75% on a referral purchase..
plus, there are generally rewards and prizes paid to the top affiliates.
